Akif Khan appointed Assistant Manager for the Mens 1st Team.

🚨 Club Announcement 🚨

We are delighted to announce Akif Khan has joined our Mens first team coaching staff. Akif will assist manager Ishy with all team affairs.

Further information:

Akif brings years of experience of the adult game to the role. He created and built up Toller FC, taking them all the way to the top of amateur football.

After a decade in the game, he has sought a new challenge with Bradford United. His passion and desire hasn’t decreased despite all the years in the game. His knowledge of local players is vast and his abilities will be vital for the club as they move into a new era.

Akif had this to say on his appointment – “it was an opportunity too good to miss out on. After lengthy talks with Technical Director, Mani, it was a no brainer. I believe we can build something special here. The opportunities that are available for local players are something I have never seen in the area before.”

We’re raising money in memory of our Sami

As many of you may be aware, we recently lost one of our players Sami Ahmed to a tragic rock climbing accident in the Lake District.

In remembrance of Sami, Phoenix FC are raising money (Sadaqah Jariya) to be used for charitable cause(s) of his families choice.

Ishfaq Hussain is appointed new Men’s 1st team manager.

We are happy to announce Ishfaq Hussain as our new Mens first team manager. Ishy, as he is affectionately known, is a UEFA A License manager who has coached and managed at various professional academies and clubs. His most recent role was with semi-pro club Albion Sports as manager.

Ishy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role and is excited to start working with players. He has already identified a number of key transfer targets to strengthen the squad.

Ishy had this to say – “I have worked closely with the club for a number of years now and know exactly how ambitious the club is. Once I was approached by the club, I knew I wanted to be a part of the next step in the project.”

In the last 24 months, Ishy has worked very closely with the next generation of stars at the club. He has built the entire youth structure as well as developing an exciting playing philosophy with our U18s through to our U23s. The foundation at the club is strong and, with Ishy’s experience, he knows exactly which youth players deserve the opportunity to step up into the first team.

Alongside coaching the players, Ishy has been mentoring the junior coaches at the club. He has been developing coaches to help them take the next step in their coaching badges. Eight coaches have started the new UEFA C Licence under his role as FA Coach Mentor.
